2018 Spirit Conference
Red Mountain Student Council was able to continue our super fun tradition of going to the AASC spirit conference, this year, hosted by Mountain View High School. We were able to arrive full of energy starting us off super hype for the day! Participating in fun dancing, listening to motivational speakers, and really intense dance battles, throughout the day we were able to get prepared for what we need to bring to the 2018-2019 school year. As the conference came to a close and goodbyes were said, we headed out on our 15 minute journey back to Red Mountain stopping for a midday meal along the way.
Both 4th and 5th hour Student Council classes ready to load the bus in our school spirit and athletic gear!

4th hour!

5th hour!

As always, we began the spirit conference with a dance party!!!!
Directors Dodge and Pete brought tons of spirit as they welcomed AASC to Mountain View High School!

We were privileged to hear from motivational speakers, Shane Feldman and Dr. Ivan Band! We heard inspiring stories and gained advice for reaching our goals.

We were so excited for AP and Jakobe to rap their single, "Trust the Process". They brought tons of energy into the room as the whole crowd sang along!

HOCO HALLS
For another year we were able to decorate the spirit halls to show the theme of this years homecoming, A Night in the Lions Den. Hours were put into designing, crafting, and putting up the elaborate halls.

Lock-In
This year we got to have our second annual lock in! The goal of this is to bring student council together and focus on our impact on Red Mountain. We were so excited to have 5th hour join us for the entire day on Friday and then having Gilbert Christian High School meet us in Payson for more team bonding.
We started out the day with fun activities to help us get to know each other better.

We were so excited to have our annual lunch with the best buddies/mountain movers! We welcomed them with posters and signs all over the room.

We had such a blast with these amazing students! We played games, danced to music, and had delicious pizza for lunch. It's always fun getting to know them better and creating special memories with them.

After lunch we went downstairs for team building activities. We played one of our favorite games, Electricity, and discussed the importance of working together as a team and putting forth the effort to meet our goals.

With 4th and 5th hours combined, we set a mindset for the year and created important goals that we can't wait to work towards to meet! Our main goal we want to focus on is to make everybody feel important!

As the school day portion of the lock-in came to and end, we said goodbye to 5th hour with the cinnamon roll hug!

5th hour chairman and the 4th hour class returned to the school to finish the lock in with dinner and a fun night of more activities!

After dinner we got into our hall groups to finish hoco hall prep. While we were in these groups we started a new activity. One person from each group volunteered to have a disability for the rest of the night to experience how it may feel. This taught us the importance of working together and also not taking things for granted.

We stayed in our groups as we watched mindset videos and brainstormed ideas from the videos that we can take from them and learn from.

We were so lucky and happy to be surprised with our some of our student council alumni throughout the night!

After this discussion, we got into new groups and watched more videos on more serious subjects. Then we walked over to the gym to present what we learned.

This discussion calmed the mood as we led into our next activities. The squat game and board breaking! Mrs. Pomonis taught us how to break out of our personal boundaries and break through wooden boards with our bare hands. With music in the background and screaming YES! YES! YES! we had such a fun time cheering each other on.

We finished the night by going out to the football field to discuss our favorite parts of the day and what we learned. Then we went to bed and got a whole 2 hours of sleep!
AASC President Luncheon
The presidential luncheon was great and we met a lot of people from AASC camp. We were able to hear from a wonderful speaker who climbed to the top of Mount Everest. We went to kind of a creepy place for it but it was all good because the experience was awesome.

Alumni Thanksgiving Lunch
We invited some of our student council alumni to come and have lunch with us the day before Thanksgiving! We had so much catching up with them and were so happy to see them!
Business Meetings
During our meetings, we approve and discuss club business regarding their expenses and fundraisers.

Each member of our council follows along as our president, Blake reads off each item of business from the clubs around school.
Smiles for Christmas
This event is so fun for all of the members that participate. We adopt a kid for a day and do fun activities to make their Christmas experience something that they

Heading 1
Every year, we go to Cesar Chavez High School and spend the day with kids from the feder elementary schools. It's rewarding seeing their smiling, cheerful faces.

We LOVE taking pictures with our cool kids around their campus with all the awesome decorations!!
Christmas and White Elephant Party
December 21, 2018
To celebrate Christmas and the holidays, each member brings food and gifts.

Sitting in a cirle, while eating breakfast, we play a fun game of white elephant.
